Positive things in the last quarter

Here are the good things that have happened to me in the last 3 months.

Pharmaceuticals

Around 2 months ago, I learned that there is actually One Weird Trick to eliminate all my personal addictions overnight.

I don’t use it that often, because my addictions have become part of my daily life and I’m loath to stop.

But it is fairly comforting to have a solution available as a quick discrete choice.

Lack of brain damage

On many occasions over the last few months, I felt I experienced one-sided numbness, facial drooping, intense headpain, reading difficulties… basically every symptom in this list bar vision loss.

However, repeated MRI scans have failed to identify any damage. All LLMs agree I have no restricted diffusion, no intracranial haemorrhage, no hydrocephalus or midline shift, etc.

This necessarily implies I have not experienced any significant long term brain damage, which is great. I’m not sure what the future will bring, but I can be reasonably confident I haven’t experienced any serious injuries this year.

Social activities

Insofar as I participated in any offline social activities, they were broadly enjoyable.

I think this take is mostly correct. The peak of human life is in human interaction, not manifesting Plato’s shadows on the internet. Especially when that firewood is now made of silicon.

Basic foundations

For much of my life, I lacked the mental wherewithal to do the meticulous things: meal prep, room clearing, digital security, home server, financial planning, utility/replacement items, etc.

These things have all gradually improved over the year. Things are still quite wrong, but they are much less wrong than they used to be.

Conclusion

Many good things have happened in the last quarter.
